| - All tours originate from Tucson, Arizona. - Cost of tour is $550, price includes: * All lodging and meals (3 meals a day) for Saturday, Sunday and Monday with the exception of Friday night's stay in Nuevos Casas Grandes. Hotel cost is $40.00 and can be paid with CC or cash. * All pottery safely packaged and import fees paid. Unless declaring more than $3,000 worth. Small fee would be charged. * All pottery will be priced at direct cost to you. * Meet Juan Quezada* and other master potters in Nuevos Casas Grandes, Casas Grandes and the 5 barrios (neigbhborhoods) that make up Mata Ortiz. Barrio Por Venir,Barrio Centro,Barrio Americano, Barrios Iglesias and Barrio Lopez. * Pottery classes are not included in the tour but can be scheduled for an extra fee with advance notice. *( based on his availability) |
| Travel Itinerary Friday Leave Tucson at 8 am and arrive in Nuevos Casas Grandes at approx. 4pm. Visit potters homes, check into Las Brisas 3 star hotel, fine dining at La Finca in Old Casas Grandes. Saturday Breakfast and check out by 10am. Visit the homes of Lydia Quezada and other notable potters. Visit potters and the Paquime Ruins in Old Casas Grandes. Depart for Mata Ortiz. Sunday Breakfast @ 8:30, visit Barrio's Americano, Lopez and Iglesias. Lunch @ noon. Continue visiting potters homes. Dinner @ 6pm. Monday Leave Mata Ortiz by 9am. Cross back into the U.S. through Columbus, New Mexico. Get into Tucson by 7pm. Please note that this is a general itinerary and can change at any time due to having too much fun at any given time. |
